Parents Place
This year we’ll be looking at some key issues you and your students are facing with the help of Chap Clark’s book, “HURT.” Each month a guest will share some helpful truths, thoughts and ideas for parenting teenagers. You’ll have opportunity to interact with other parents and always finish praying for one another and your kids. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity!
Student Ministries: February - May 2007
The Edge (grades 6-8) meets Sunday nights from 5-6:30pm
New Teaching Series: “I have a friend who…”
We’ll be talking about issues like: Drugs and Alcohol, Homosexuality, Eating Disorders, and Cutting (or self-mutilation). This is a very crucial series for our students. They or their friends are facing some incredible temptations, struggles, and decisions in life. During this series we hope to help them know what God’s word has to say about these critical life issues and how they could help a friend facing a struggle.
Underground (grades 9-12) meets Sunday nights from 7-9pm
New Teaching Series: “The Songs We Sing”
Beginning March 11th we’ll launch a new series entitled, “The Songs We Sing” The purpose of this series is to help us really think about the songs we sing at Church. So many times we stand and mouth words to a catchy tune without really engaging our heart and mind with what’s being sung. Sometimes the songs we sing don’t make sense because we don’t know the meaning of the words. Sometimes the songs we sing lack meaning because we don’t know the real significance of the phrases. During this series we’ll look at some old hymns of the church and some contemporary worship songs we do every week. We’ll discover the Biblical roots of these songs and learn some powerful life lessons along the way. “The Songs We Sing” will never be the same again in your heart and mind.
